ABOUT

“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.”

Colossians 1:28-29

Who We Are

Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters aims to make known the authority and supremacy of Jesus Christ. The Bible is the inerrant Word of God. This is why we teach from and according to the scriptures.

Snowbird uses outdoor recreation and intentional conversations as a platform to proclaim the Gospel. We engage students, adults, and churches in biblical ministry. We faithfully preach the Gospel to the lost and equip believers with the necessary tools and experience. The Great Commission is non-negotiable.

This is our mission.

Mission Statement

Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the exposition of Scripture and personal relationships in order to equip the Church to impact this generation.

Statement of Faith

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Snowbird’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our executive team is Snowbird’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

The Bible is the Word of God, written by men, divinely inspired of God and is sufficient for salvation, for trusting him completely, and for obeying him faithfully.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:5-6; Psalm 119; 1 Peter 2:1-3

God eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, and there is one God.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; Jude 20-21

Man, created in the image and likeness of God, fell into the bondage of sin through the temptation of Satan. Now, because of the inherited sin nature handed down to all of mankind because of Adam’s sin, human beings are spiritually dead and in need of a Savior.

Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 5:1-2; Genesis 3; Romans 3:9-19; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-2

The salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through the atonement of our sins by Jesus Christ, who by the Holy Spirit was born of the virgin Mary and took upon Himself our nature, yet without sin, fully God and fully man.

Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 2:17; 4:15; Luke 1:26- 37; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21; 1 Peter 2: 22-25

The blessings of salvation are offered freely to all who by repenting put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by his own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. Salvation is impossible apart from Jesus Christ. All true believers endure to the end by the power of God.

Matthew 10:22; John 1:11-14; 3:16, 36; 10:27-29 Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:31; Romans 3:23-25; 10:9-10; Acts 20:21; 2 Corinthians 7:9-10; Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 3:14; 1 Peter 1:5; 1 John 1:9

The Lord Jesus Christ, who was resurrected from the tomb and ascended into Heaven, will visibly and powerfully return to earth in power and glory. After this there will be a final judgment for all mankind, the righteous to eternal life and the unrighteous to eternal punishment.

Matthew 25:31-46; 28:5-7; John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Acts 1:7-11; Revelation 1:7; 20:11-15

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

Psalm 139

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters as the local Body of Christ and to provide a biblical role model to Snowbird members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Snowbird in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22).

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters.

Core Values

It is our desire that the Gospel will drive every aspect of the ministry at SWO. We want to measure everything that we do on whether or not it is serving the mission that Jesus gave us before He ascended into heaven. Every role in this ministry is working toward the advancement and application of the Gospel locally and globally.

Jesus told His disciples to emulate the way in which He served them. This is a command that deserves to be taken seriously. At SWO, we will strive to serve others as brothers and sisters and make it our goal to prefer others and treat them as more important than ourselves.

God created human beings in His image and for relationship with each other. Unfortunately, because of sin our relationships have been broken. But the good news of the Gospel is that God has reconciled us not only to Himself, but has also opened the door for reconciliation with each other. Not only this but he has provided the perfect context for this in the body of Christ. We commit to treat others in light of the inherent value that God has given to each of us as eternal souls, created in His image and to strive toward reconciliation with God and man.

The Christian ethic requires us to live all of our lives for the glory of God. This includes the way in which we work. Christians need to be setting the standard for what it means to work hard. We need to see our jobs and vocations as offerings that we are giving to God in worship and do whatever our hands find to do wholeheartedly to the Lord.

Our outward attitude is an open display of our inner disposition. Not only does Scripture command us to work hard, but we are commanded to do so without complaining or grumbling. At SWO we are committed to being positive and striving to have a Christ-like attitude in all we say and do.

What Our Partners Have to Say

"Snowbird's heart is to provide your students with preaching that is based on the Word of God and not the words of men. Exposition of God’s Word is a core value of who they are and it's sewn into everything they do... The aim is to make known the authority and supremacy of Jesus Christ in all things, to all people, at all times."
Daniel Ritchie
Student Pastor
“Choosing a camp is often a decision between a fun, beautiful, adventurous facility or strong leadership and great teaching for your students. At Snowbird, these two things collide. You’ll have an unforgettable experience and challenging Gospel-centered teaching from the Word of God. I love Snowbird Outfitters.”
